Sa Bum Nym Jan Butler
SBN was a high school wrestling standout at Orion High School,IL.He studied Karate for a while and also practiced with friends who were in Judo and Jujitsu.He started Kuk Sool in 1984. He received his Black Belt in 1986 and his 4th Degree in 1997. He trains under Master Frank D'Amato from California.
Kyo Sa Nym Tom Hooks
Tom KSN started Kuk Sool Won back in the summer of 1984 and has trained with SBN Butler since 1986. He received his 1st Degree in 1991 and 2nd Degree a few years later. KSN is a bodyshop foreman.
Jo Kyo Nym Vince Enslein
Vince JKN started training Kuk Sool in the fall of 1992 under SBN Butler. He received his 1st Degree in 1996. Vince boxed and did fencing while in college. Sir Vincent teaches Business classes at Clinton Community College in Clinton, IA. He is SBN's favorite go-to-guy when a new student is going through an introductory class. Vince JKN is a kind, patient insturctor who makes everyone feel at home and secure with their abilities. He is also Co-Editor of our monthly newsletter along with Dahn Bo Paulena Khaw. He is a handy fix-it-all if something breaks down.
Jo Kyo Nym Rick Rogers
Started Kuk Sool in the spring of 1995 and received his Black Belt in 1999. Rick JKN did some martial arts while in college. He is one of SBN's top competitors, winning numerous tournaments. Rick is 1 of 3 in SBN's special training class (Mu In). Rick is a dedicated and hard worker, always giving 100% in class. He is an Electrical Engineer and works for Bandag and Rick also gives his time to the Special Olympics.
Jo Kyo Nym Jack Koster
Jack JKN started Kuk Sool Won in 1994 and received his Black Belt in 1999. Jack is a very motivated student and believes that anyone can do whatever they want if they are willing to work for it. Jack is 75 years young and has trained in martial arts years ago. He is also a former Mr. Iowa, an artist, and a former opera singer. Jack underwent a liver transplant in 1990 and is now doing fine. Jack is a very hard worker and never wants anything given to him. He helps SBN out by teaching the Tuesday and Friday morning classes. If you want to be motivated, take a class with him.
Jo Kyo Nym Chuck Clark
JKN Chuck Clark started Kuk Sool in Spring of 1994 and received his Black Belt in 1999. JKN Chuck is always helping to come up with new ideas to help promote our school. He is also very good with helping with the kids classes, and is also one of our handy fix-it guys when something breaks down.
Jo Kyo Nym Mike Ashmead
JKN Mike started Kuk Sool Won in December of 1995 under SBN Butler. Mike has overcome a vehicle accident and received his Black Belt in June of 2001. JKN Mike has a never give up attitude and is always giving his best. SBN Butler has stated that Mike would definitely be somebody he would trust to cover his back. Mike sometimes gets in to help with kids classes. He works as a furnace operator at Equistar in Clinton, IA.


Dahn Bo Kyle Hendricks
Kyle started Kuk Sool in 1997 and will be testing for his Black Belt June of 2001. Kyle was a high Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do before starting Kuk Sool. He is one of three in SBN's special training class (Mu In). Kyle is also a dedicated and hard worker and one of SBN's top competitors. Kyle never gives up and has great Jung Shin (spirit). Kyle is an Iron Worker.
Dahn Bo Paulena Khaw
PK started Kuk Sool in 1998 and will be testing for Black Belt June of 2001. Paulena trained in two other styles of martial arts in her native country of Malaysia. She is one of the best all around students SBN has ever had. Paulena is self-motivated and always strives for perfection. She is one of three in SBN's special training class (Mu In) and is also a top competitor. Paulena helps run the office and also helps JKN Sir Vincent with the newsletters.
